Keeping your RAM in top shape requires regular services and maintenance. As your RAM dealership, we want to tell you about some of the many services we offer to keep your vehicle running at peak performance.

Oil Replacement

Oil is vital for engine health and performance. It’s pumped through at high speed and lubricates countless components. This is important, as pats depend on friction to work effectively, and constant lubrication helps them perform faster and more efficiently while protecting them from friction damage. Oil also contains various additives that keep the engine clean, prevent rust, and break down carbon deposits, which could cause engine blockages.

As the oil circulates, it passes through the oil filter, which traps dirt, tiny metal fragments, and other debris collected throughout the engine. As time passes, the oil thickens and slows down due to the accumulated debris. The less efficient oil increases engine wear and tear and decreases performance and fuel economy. Once we replace the oil and install a new filter, these problems will disappear.

Coolant Replacement

Like oil, coolant is one of your vehicle/s most important fluids. Coolant is a mixture of water and antifreeze, and its job is to absorb engine heat and remove it to keep the engine at a safe operating temperature. As coolant moves through the engine, it absorbs heat radiating from the hot components. This heat is locked inside the coolant and transported to the radiator, where it’s removed by heat exchange.

Older coolant is less effective at heat removal, causing the engine temperature to rise. In addition, it can become corrosive and cause serious damage if it’s not replaced. Our technicians will test the coolant to determine its condition. If the coolant is old, we drain and replace it. If the coolant is corrosive, we drain it and flush the cooling system with a mixture of coolant and a cleaning solution. Once it’s clean, we refill the coolant.

Tire Rotations

Tires gradually wear down due to surface friction. They also suffer increased wear and tear on certain sections based on their position on your vehicle. Each tire position causes a specific wear damage based on wheel alignment and weight distribution. Continued damage to the same sections of a tire will cause leaks or a blowout.

Rotations reduce tire damage by moving each tire to a new position. This equalizes wear and tear across all your tires as they wear out at a relatively similar rate. It also increases lifespan, which makes it easier to plan for their eventual replacement.
